A year in review for the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society 30 Dec

As the year draws to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year and best wishes for 2024!

We have had a fantastic year and we have reached over 16,000 Lincolnshire students through our charity work. The Education Programme successfully delivered Agri-Food, Tractors into Schools, Schools’ Challenge at the Lincolnshire Show, Livestock tours, IMPACT Workshops, Lincolnshire Day and two Farmhouse Breakfast Weeks!

We also welcomed thousands to our events; we started in February with the Lincolnshire Farming Conference, 6,000 people visited Countryside Lincs in April, nearly 60,000 attended the 138th Lincolnshire Show in June and our biggest Lincolnshire Food and Gift welcomed over 9,000.

At the Lincolnshire Show, we also hosted the annual Long Service Awards – if you would like to find out more about the Long Service Awards, applications are now open. Contact Alice Joyce – Ajoyce@lincolnshireshowground.co.uk.

The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society has recognised hard work through awards and sponsorship. In May, we awarded Nature Nurture Forest School as our “Grow with the Show” Winner. At the Lincolnshire Show we presented awards including our overall ‘Trade Award’ winner, Nunny’s Farm. See the full list of awards given at the Lincolnshire Show here.

We also sponsored the University of Lincoln's Events Management award – congratulations Sze Yat Chan. More recently we sponsored the Active Lincolnshire ‘Active School Award’ crowning St Nicholas C of E Primary Academy as winner for 2023!

Over the year we’ve welcomed a few new employees, notably a new Chief Executive, Charlotte Powell in June and of course we said goodbye to those onto pastures new, most recently Helen McGurk who will be greatly missed as she retires from the LAS. Please see the organisation chart to check out the new faces!

Lincolnshire Showground Limited welcomed a record number of events to the Showground this year including new events Modified Nationals and Lambretta as well Awaken returning for another year. Check out what's coming up next year!

As we look ahead to 2024 we can’t wait to celebrate all things Lincolnshire in June with the flagship Lincolnshire Show, developing an environmental area for learning at the Showground, welcoming Truckfest and of course delivering our educational events to more students!

By being a Member of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society you help us continue to grow the Society and our offering to the wider community. 2024 Memberships are now open for renewal. Make sure you log in to your Showing Scene account to renew your membership today – here
