We are a charity that is passionate about agricultural education and learning.
Here at The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, we’re dedicated to educating our future generations about food, farming and the countryside while continuing to support and encourage the agricultural community around us.
The Society’s education team plan a year-round calendar of events to inspire and engage children of all ages with food and farming in Lincolnshire.
One of the education team’s main focuses is to invite Schools to take their learning out of the classroom to develop their knowledge and understanding about where their food comes from and how it’s produced.
We’re pleased to be able to offer local Schools funding to contribute towards transport costs and giving school groups the opportunity to visit farms and other sites related to agriculture. The funding is also available to help Lincolnshire schools develop their own gardens and allotments.
To be considered for a grant, Lincolnshire schools will be asked to submit a simple outline of the proposed visit, including the purpose, age range of pupils and numbers involved and detail how the curriculum will be enriched by the visit. A member of the team will then send you the application form if appropriate.

Our Education and Development Officer is happy to give talks and generally enthuse young people about food and farming. We can tailor a talk to fit in with your curriculum and projects, so get in touch and let's see how we can work together.
The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society Impact Group was launched in March 2015 at the inaugural Lincolnshire Farming Conference. It brings together the younger generation of farmers and like-minded industry supporters who all share a passion for Lincolnshire; its farming, countryside, food production and business.
The LAS Impact Group group meets seven times a year, getting together to visit places of interest as well as enjoying a drinks reception after the Lincolnshire Farming Conference.

As well as arranging our own education initiatives and events, we also work with local educational establishments to support their programmes each year too!
We’re building a great relationship with the University of Lincoln by supporting the students with their studies from first year through to final year students. Projects include working alongside our Showground Marketing team to analyse the website for functionality and appeal, a field trip and a consultancy project to bridge the gap between the classroom and industry to help prepare students for future employability.
We work alongside LGTA (Lincoln Group Training Association) in conjunction with CITB and Lincolnshire & Rutland EBP to hold a career taster event for Lincolnshire school children. For three days each year, the Showground is converted into a workshop for more than 20 different activities, giving students an insight into the construction industry from the best in the business.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for allowing several of your team to assist across many different modules this term at the university. The students and I value the input and expertise provided by your team so much and we know it is beneficial for student future career prospects. We are very grateful.Hanya Pielichaty, Programme Leader BSc Events Management
The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society is a charity that is passionate about agricultural education and countryside learning.
As a charity we rely on income from our events to deliver our Education Programme and support the local community, however this income has fallen drastically due to Covid-19. We need your support to ensure the Showground can continue to deliver outstanding events and provide our Educational Programme.
Anything you can give, large or small, will make a difference - thank you.
