A taste of Christmas in The Lincolnshire Kitchen 15 Nov
Josh Richardson from the Electric Bar will be performing cocktail demonstrations at the Lincolnshire Food & Gift Fair on 26 - 27 November, but we couldn't wait any longer to find out what was in store. Here, Josh shares with us the French Connection, a cocktail twist on the Christmas classic port and Stilton.
French Connection
This fun, festive cocktail is great for you to try at home over the festive period - and easy to make, too! It has very few ingredients and would work best as a novel dessert choice after dinner. The fresh and sweet dark fruit flavours alongside the subtle charred notes of the whiskey are enhanced by the salty and slightly bitter taste of the cheese, with the grapes serving as a pallet cleanser to allow you to repeat the process.. again, and again!
You'll need
- 50ml Buffalo Trace Bourbon
- 25ml Chambord
- 2 dash orange bitters
- 5ml sugar syrup
How Josh serves this festive cocktail: all ingredients stirred lightly, strained into a Martini glass and spritzed with orange peel, served on a granite slate alongside blue cheese on neutral crackers (preferably Fourme D'Ambert, but could use a good Stilton!) and frozen grapes.
