The Magical World of Fingley comes to Food & Gift 25 Oct

Contributed by The Magical World of Fingley

Whether it's transforming into our alter ego pixies Nixie and Astoria, travelling around the TV stations with DODL BEAR, or running around doing treasure hunts with children, you can be sure that every day in The Magical World of Fingley will always be different.

The Magical World of Fingley is a children's storybook world brought to life. There are five books in the series including the highly anticipated prequel story that was released earlier this year.

DODL BEAR is an adorable 'traditional' teddy bear with a heart-shaped face and purple paws. This endearing bear has been hand-crafted in England by Merrythought Limited using traditional skills and materials and features a rich golden plush coat with amethyst felt paws. His deep amethyst eyes show a longing to be hugged, which together with a hand-embroidered nose and adorable smile, give him a charm that can only be found in a timeless teddy bear of this tradition.

DODL BEAR has been created as a special limited edition to complement the children's book series about The Magical World of Fingley, written by author Daisa Morgan, and is presented in a 'Merrythought' gift box - the perfect companion to take home this Christmas. In each book, our main character DODL BEAR, whose name is an acronym for Doing Ordinary Deeds Lovingly, takes a child on an exciting adventure to a magical eco-world far above the universe. Here, they can meet The Fingley Fairies - Amber, Queen of the Fairies, The Bears under the Stairs and Fingley himself.

DODL uses The Magical World of Fingley to teach children how to care for the world around them, and how to care for themselves and others. The world subtly introduces children to ecology and sustainability in a fun and interactive way. Wind farms, renewable energy and recycling are just some of the themes that are dealt with, along with sourcing your own food and discovering the process through which it goes.

This amazing world was created from author Daisa Morgan's experience of living in an eco-village in north east Scotland for three years. When she returned to Lincolnshire, she felt compelled to bring her stories to life in a way that could encourage children to gain more confidence and be inspired to help change the world.

The brand has grown with the help of a great team of dedicated co-workers and renowned suppliers providing a range of exciting products, including DODL BEAR - handcrafted by Merrythought Limited, a fifth generation run company that for 80 years has been hand-making toys in England and recently created the new bear for 'Edward', the new Christopher Robins teddy bear.

Products and gifts also include cuddly Bears under the Stairs teddy bears, Snap Cards and some fantastic Daily Affirmation Cards, which children are encouraged to choose every day to encourage mindfulness.

The Magical World of Fingley also provides school workshops and has its own radio show in partnership with West Hull FM Community Radio.

The Fingley team love to take their Road Show to prestigious events like the Lincolnshire Food & Gift Fair, where they have the opportunity to meet with new and old fans alike. This year, Astoria and Nexie, two of the Fingley pixies, will be visiting Santa's Workshop at the Food & Gift Fair, delivering a creative Christmas experience for children! They want to introduce children and adults to The Magical World of Fingley to help make a positive change in our own world. Colouring, crafts, reading and writing activities, treasure hunts and storytelling will be on offer for children throughout the two day event on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 December.

It's a fantastic opportunity to get involved with something brand new which has a traditional theme at its heart and meet the author and creator of The Magical World of Fingley - Daisa Morgan. Our message is so important and we want to share it with every child we can. So, bring your little ones along to meet us. We can't wait to see you all!
