Meet the exhibitor: The Foodbox 05 Apr

Contributed by The Foodbox

We are a small family run business based in Bottesford just a few miles from Belvoir Castle, and in the summer of 2016 completed a professional conversion of an outdoor event catering unit after bringing together the idea of creating simple good food and a vintage British horse trailer!

We specialise in attending family-focused vintage and rural events and provide crowd-pleasing traditional grilled cheese sourdough 'toasties' packed with local Blue Stilton, Lincolnshire Red, Lincolnshire Poacher and guest cheeses. This offers a refreshing meat free alternative to the usual burger vans - although we do include options with bacon and pork pies too.

Living in the Vale of Belvoir at the junction of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire gives us great access to some brilliant rural and local food suppliers, so our core ingredients all come from close to our home. Our aim is to buy locally and direct from established, trustworthy suppliers.

We are a small unit and all of our food is prepared and cooked freshly to order and, importantly, no hot holding, which means that to keep our customers happy we work hard and fast with a focus on quality rather than quantity. We're also proud to display our 5 star food hygiene rating.

Feedback from the creative organisers we have worked with suggests that we make a valued contribution to the events we attend through a celebration of freshly cooked regional good food, and we're delighted to bring our business and tasty grilled cheese sandwiches to Countryside Lincs on Sunday 9 April. Be sure to pay us a visit when you're feeling peckish!
