LEP Conference to Highlight Innovation for Growth in Lincolnshire 03 Nov
The Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership’s annual conference takes place this week and Innovation for Growth will be its theme.
The popular event on Thursday 7th November 2024 will highlight how innovation has been pivotal to economic success in Greater Lincolnshire and which innovation-led trends are predicted to benefit businesses in the future.
Disruptor, business trailblazer and self-styled rebel technologist Brett StClair will deliver the keynote speech, and there will be panel discussions on innovation for growth and local business innovators.
The conference will also provide an update on some of the work that the LEP and its partners have undertaken this year and will feature a conversation between the three past and present chairs of the LEP: Ursula Lidbetter, Pat Doody and Professor Neal Juster.
A demonstration arena will feature innovative technology including:
· a Boston Dynamic robotic dog being used by STEP, an ambitious project to develop a prototype fusion power plant at West Burton in Nottinghamshire
· SKYPERION, a signals intelligence system for countering drone threats developed by Metis Aerospace
· an innovative, fully automatic blueberry harvester developed by Eyre Trailers
· health training tools and smart mannequins demonstrated by the charity LIVES
The event will take place at the EPIC Centre on the Lincolnshire Showground from 8am until 2pm. Admission is free and there will be the usual networking opportunities and a complimentary lunch for delegates.
Free transport to and from the venue will be available on the Lincoln BIG sightseeing tour bus, departing from St Mary’s Street outside Lincoln railway station at 7.45am and returning from the showground at 1.30pm.
