Tickets on sale for Lincolnshire Showground's key 2022 events 14 Feb

The Lincolnshire Showground is getting ready for the return of two of its most-loved events with the release of tickets.

The family-friendly favourite Countryside Lincs will be held on Sunday 10 April, and the famous Lincolnshire Show will make its grand return on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 June.

With highlights to be revealed over the coming months for both events, the 2022 shows will recognise the best of rural Lincolnshire with an eclectic mix of entertainment, food, shopping, music and agriculture.

Jayne Southall, CEO of Lincolnshire Showground, said: “This year is a very special one for the Lincolnshire Showground as we are able to host two of our best family-themed events for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic. We are so pleased to see the events back for 2022.

“The team are so proud of these events, where we offer an array of exciting features and performers while keeping the traditions of the shows and maintaining their roots in agriculture. Countryside Lincs is full of activities and is a fabulous day out, making the event perfect for first-time visitors or those returning year after year.

“Meanwhile, we are extremely excited for the return of the greatest show of all – the Lincolnshire Show. We’re really proud to celebrate the best of Lincolnshire and its great heritage. The show is a testament to the fantastic trade, talent and produce that the county has to offer, and we love being able to showcase that in one place. 2022 is going to be a phenomenal year and we can’t wait to reveal even more special surprises that we’ve got up our sleeves.”

Countryside Lincs

Taking place on Sunday 10 April between 10am and 4pm, Countryside Lincs offers a fun-filled day out, offering visitors the opportunity to experience a flavour of farming, food production and the countryside. Visitors will be able to enjoy a large variety of hands-on activities, cookery workshops, exciting demonstrations, and live entertainment. Taking place just before Easter, an egg hunt will be available for families to enjoy - with a treat for everyone who completes the trail.

Nine different zones will be available to explore, plus an action-packed timetable of displays in the Countryside Ring. This year's displays include the ever-popular BMX stunt show and the exciting addition of the Barlow Red Barrows – who will put on an eccentric performance using wheelbarrows.

Also new for 2022, visitors can join the alpacas for a walk in the Countryside Zone, where they will also be able to try country sports, meet birds of prey, hedgehogs and get involved in bushcraft activities. There will be traditional games in the new Village Green area where visitors can get involved with circus skills workshops and test their rugby skills.

Elsewhere, local producers will be hosting hands-on cooking workshops in the Food Zone and the indoor food and craft market will offer goods from the best suppliers Lincolnshire has to offer. The indoor shopping section will be bigger than ever before, expanding to meet the exciting list of new exhibitors for 2022.

Advance tickets for Countryside Lincs are £10 for adults, £6 for children, and children under 5 go free, Family tickets, which admit two adults and up to three children are priced at £30 (plus booking fees). Once in event, most activities are free to visitors. On-site parking will also be free of charge all day.

Lincolnshire Show

This summer will mark the grand return of the county’s flagship event, the Lincolnshire Show, which will welcome visitors on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 June at 8am to 6pm.

The show will celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, taking on a royal purple colour scheme. The Showground will be dressed in colourful bunting and stands taking on royal decorative themes to create a street party across the Showground.

Expecting to attract more than 60,000 visitors across the two days, the ever-popular show will celebrate the very best Lincolnshire has to offer across various zones. New for 2022, the Atkinson Action Horses will grace the Main Ring, often featured in major TV and film productions, visitors will be treated to a high-energy, breath-taking stunt show.

The Lincolnshire Kitchen will host live cookery demonstrations from top local chefs and producers. Meanwhile, the Aviation Zone celebrates Lincolnshire’s rich aviation heritage, along with plenty for younger visitors to see, make and do in the Discovery, Activity and Kids Zones.

Advance tickets for the Lincolnshire Show tickets are £22 for adults, £7 for children and family tickets, admitting two adults and up to three children are priced at £55 (plus booking fees). On-site parking will also be free of charge all day.

The Lincolnshire Show is organised by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, a registered charity whose aims are to educate about food, farming and the countryside. All profits from both events support their educational work, which engages with over 13,000 local children each year. By attending these spectacular events visitors are helping to continue this important work.
