School children from across Lincolnshire get cooking at the Showground 08 Nov
The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, along with school children from a number of primary schools across Lincolnshire, will hold a week of workshops to teach young people about the importance of a healthy breakfast and celebrate Lincolnshire’s finest produce.
On 12th, 14th and 16th of November school children will take part in a fun-filled morning of activities at the Showground. Pupils will be given the opportunity to get hands-on by making their own tasty breakfast snacks, exploring in a real tractor, ‘meeting the farmer’ and learning all about the most important meal of the day – breakfast!
Education and Development Officer, Rosie Crust, said: “This will be the fourth year that we have hosted our Farmhouse Breakfast Week and we’re really excited to be welcoming pupils from a number of schools across Lincolnshire.
As the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, we know how important it is to engage and educate young people on food, farming and the countryside, and we run a number of educational events throughout the year at the Lincolnshire Showground. We are always working hard to ensure the next generation understand the link between agriculture and food so we are very proud to be running this exciting event! Due to tremendous interest from Schools across Lincolnshire, this is the second Farmhouse Breakfast Week we’ve ran this year!”.
