Lincoln College donates PPE
Our friends at Lincoln College have donated a large stock of face masks, gloves, aprons and wipes to the Lincolnshire Care Association to support the care industry during the coronavirus crisis. The stock will be distributed to care homes in and around Lincolnshire.
University of Lincoln & For the Love of Scrubs
In partnership with a nationwide project called ‘For the Love of Scrubs’, volunteers are now using the facilities at the University of Lincoln to cut and sew scrubs for healthcare workers at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Along with making scrubs the University is also producing 700 safety visors a week for healthcare workers and frontline staff. Pocklingtons Bakery’s Blue Cross Buns!
Our friends at the amazing Pocklington’s Bakery created blue hot cross brioche buns all in aid of the NHS on Wednesday 22 April for ‘Blue Cross Buns Day’! They donated 50p from each packet sold to the Louth County Hospital MRI Scanner Fund and gave free samples to those working in Louth County Hospital, we bet they tasted delicious!
Captain Ben raises £3,000
11-year-old Ben Payne from Lincoln took on the task of walking up and down his stairs over 1,500 in less than 24 hours and has raised an amazing £3,000 for the NHS. Captain Ben was inspired by the famous Captain Tom Moore and wanted to do something himself to help. Ben spent over 17 hours on Sunday climbing his stairs and walked the equivalent of 3,408 metres. All in aid of the BBC’s Big Night In, Peter Kay asked people from around the UK to get us to recreate Tony Christie’s smash hit Is this the Way to Amarillo. We’ve seen amazing uplifting videos from staff in Lincoln Morrisons and the Rainforest children’s ward at Lincoln County Hospital.
