Ferry Ales Brewery (FAB) wins two Gold Awards and a Bronze Award at SIBA East Independent Beer Awards 26 Nov

Ferry Ales Brewery took home the Gold for Golden Fleece our Blonde in the Bottle/Can Premium Pale Ales, Gold for Farmhouse Ale our Saison in the Cask Specialty Light Beer, and Bronze for Cossack our Russian Imperial Stout in the Cask Strong Beers  at the SIBA’s East Independent Beer Awards, which took place at the Elgood & Sons Brewery last Thursday.

Golden Fleece is inspired by the German Kolsch style of beer, and has been brewed and conditioned to make a refreshing light ale with citrus and mild herb flavours

Farmhouse Ale is a refreshing Saison which is golden pale in colour with a fruity taste and subtle spice finish. The aromas are of citrus fruit and spice.

Cossack our Russian Imperial Stout is a black, roasty, bittersweet and creamy ale with a lasting coffee and chocolate taste on the palate.

The SIBA East Independent Beer Awards judged more than 250 beers across a number of styles in separate cask and small pack (bottle and can) competitions. As the awards are judged mostly by brewers, industry experts and beer journalists the SIBA Independent Beer Awards are very much seen as the prestigious ‘Brewers’ choice Awards’ by the industry. John Cussons Ferry Ales Brewery had this to say on their win.

“Mike and I are thrilled to have won Gold in two categories and gained a bronze in a third category. For a young brewery it is huge honour to have our beers recognized in this way especially when we are up against some long established and extremely good breweries in the Easter Region. We are looking forward to the national championships in March and will continue to focus on delivery of our Fabulous beers”

Ferry Ales Brewery started in 2016 by John Cussons and Mike Holman is a 5 barrel micro brewery with the capacity to brew up to 5,000 litres of beer each week. We currently produce 15 different styles of beers in cask, keg and bottle and we are always researching new styles to include in our range. We supply to pubs, hotels, restaurants and shops across Lincolnshire and the wider UK.
