Lincolnshire Day at the Lincolnshire Showground 17 Oct

Hundreds of children from across the county were welcomed onto the Lincolnshire Showground to celebrate Lincolnshire Day! Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th October saw the EXO Centre on the Showground come alive with activities centred around food, farming, traditions and craft from the county.

The Education Team at the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society (LAS) created a programme of timetabled activities for KS2 schoolchildren to enjoy, provided by nearly 30 businesses and organisations from around the county. The half hour sessions included activities such as Lincolnshire sausage making with Ladies in Pigs, floral art with Flowers by Suzanne, rocket making with the STEM team from RAF Coningsby, pond dipping with Lincolnshire Chalk Streams and learning about the Boston Stump, to name a just a few.

The two days were fun-filled and provided much-appreciated enrichment opportunities for the children of the county. Learning outside the classroom offers a chance for all children to get involved and hands-on, whilst acquiring new skills and accomplishments.

“Thank you so much for such an amazing and well organised day. It completely exceeded our expectations!” Beacon Primary Academy

“The children came off the bus with all sorts of creations and absolutely buzzing.” Great Steeping Primary

It was a fantastic opportunity to instil how much the county has to offer, and to share the fabulous traditions that continue to thrive!
