Sponsorship line-up expands for Charities Dinner 05 Feb

The Private Office, the Leeds, Bath and London-based independent chartered financial planning company, will join Brown & Co, one of the Midlands’ largest farm business consultants, accountants Smailes, Goldie Turner and Lincolnshire and Yorkshire-based law firm Wilkin Chapman LLP to support this spring’s major charity event.

The Dinner will be held at the Epic Centre, Lincolnshire Showground on Thursday 11 April and will raise funds for three county-based charities: Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year, the Jon Egging Trust and the Lincolnshire Rural Support Network.

Limagrain, the Lincolnshire based plant breeder and seed producer has already signed up as the Champagne reception sponsor and last week’s announcement of LJ Fairburn and Sons as the chef sponsor, makes six key supporters, so far.

Meryl Ward, chairman of the event’s organising committee, said: “Our plans for this prestigious event in April are almost complete and with the news that The Private Office is to become our fourth dinner sponsor, the event promises to be one of the county’s major fund-raising events, this year.

“Our charities work hard in Lincolnshire, each with different aims, but all with the county at their heart. To attract this level of support from our high-profile dinner sponsors, our champagne reception and chef sponsors for our event, is magnificent. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment to the 2019 Lincolnshire Rural Charities Dinner.

“The third Charity Dinner will provide a memorable and unique way to tell our three charities’ stories and by raising money for them, will enable them to continue the great work they do in the county.”

The theme of this year’s Charity Dinner is “Past, Present and Future”, and the dinner will feature a menu of local produce, designed and introduced by the Lincolnshire Chef, Steven Bennett and guests will enjoy fine food, great fun and entertainment, beginning with a champagne reception kindly sponsored by Lincolnshire-based plant breeder and seed producer, Limagrain.

Professor Simon Pearson, Director of LIAT and Professor of Agri-Food Technology at the University of Lincoln will be the guest speaker. Professor Pearson’s career in agri-technology includes research into robotic systems, automation, energy control and management, food safety systems and novel crop development.

The host for the evening is well-known magician, after dinner speaker and Lincolnshire agronomist, Sean Sparling. Sean’s humour and quick repartee will ensure the dinner guests are entertained as they enjoy the menu of locally -produced food devised by Healing Manor’s Chef Patron Steven Bennett.

Three further dinner sponsors were announced in December and are Smailes, Goldie Turner, agricultural accountants based in Barton upon Humber and Hull, farm and rural business consultants and land agents, Brown & Co and Wilkin Chapman LLP, one of the largest law firms in Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire.
