Festive Cheer Fills the Showground at Lincolnshire Food & Gift 04 Dec
This past weekend, the Lincolnshire Food & Gift brought festive joy to the Lincolnshire Showground, attracting over 10,000 eager visitors. With more than 150 exhibitors offering a variety of artisan foods, handcrafted gifts and bespoke decorations, the event once again proved to be a highlight of the county's Christmas calendar.
Visitors were spoilt for choice with an array of offerings, from scrumptious treats to one-of-a-kind gifts. Food lovers were treated to a range of delicious options, including premium cuts and hearty recipes from first-time exhibitor The Venison Company. A spokesperson for the company shared, "Exhibiting at Food & Gift was a fantastic experience for us as a very local, new business. The weekend exceeded our expectations and has been an amazing platform to connect directly with new customers and share our passion for what we do".
We welcomed back beloved exhibitors such as Lincoln Distillery, Crowstick Interiors, Love Coffee and Tiffin and Co Bakehouse, alongside many others whose returning presence delighted regular visitors.
Beyond shopping, the event offered live cookery demonstrations, crafting workshops and festive entertainment, creating a memorable experience for all ages.
The upstairs area of the EPIC Centre was bustling with activity as Santa's Workshop and Bakehouse hosted hands-on crafting and cookery lessons for younger visitors. Thanks to the efforts of participants including Heatherbelle Crafts, Good Lookin’ Cooking, Lincoln Willow, ARTventurers, Flowers by Suzanne, Crafts and Coffee, Shire Photography and Ladies in Pigs, this area was a tremendous success.
Heather, the founder of Heatherbelle Crafts, remarked, “This year’s event was simply magical. The atmosphere at Food & Gift is so lovely and festive and it's definitely an event I look forward to every year. Over the weekend, over 250 children took part in the craft activity at my stand, as well as other wonderful free activities in Santa's Workshop and Bakehouse. Seeing their creativity come to life is always fantastic and really signals the start of the festive season for me.”
Storytime with Santa provided a heartwarming experience for families lucky enough to secure a spot. The delicious cookies kindly provided by Choowee Cookie Company were a hit while meeting Santa adding an extra sprinkle of Christmas magic to the weekend. Special thanks go to Flames of Lincoln for lending their fireplace, which helped create a perfect festive setting for Santa.
The organisers of this wonderful event, Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, would like to thank all those involved and who attended this magical event, which helps promote and support Lincolnshire’s local businesses.
