Lincolnshire Show 2015 12 Jul

Three weeks after the 2015 Lincolnshire Show, we take a look back at some of the highlights this year. 60,000 visitors flocked through the gates on the 24th and 25th June to experience all that Lincolnshire has to offer. As temperatures soared to well above 25 degrees, the Kangaroo Kid rocked the Clydesdale Bank Main Ring with his quad-bike antics, the RAF Falcons dropped in from 32,000ft and the Red Arrows featured in an eclectic display of aerodynamic manoeuvrability.

The ever popular Food Court proved a hit once again with hungry visitors, brimming with local Lincolnshire produce – everything from Lincolnshire sausages to homemade chutneys and stuffed chine. The fantastic weather made for endless queues at all of the ice cream outlets dotted around the Showground. With over 600 traders and exhibitors at this year’s Show, there really was something for everyone.

More schools than ever took part in the Schools’ Challenge this year which saw children focussing on the curriculum links with food, farming & agriculture, developing their knowledge and understanding. Results and more information about the Schools’ Challenge can be found on the Lincolnshire show website.

The Mews was a hive of activity as the Show welcomed bespoke high end retailers from across Lincolnshire and beyond. Expert Lincolnshire chef’s and producers tempted visitors with mouth-watering delights in the Cookery Demonstration Kitchen and local community groups entertained the crowds in the West Lindsey District Council Performance Area.

Situated back in its original place within the Showground, the Horticultural Area hosted the Flower Show and Floral Art displays - surrounded by local garden centres, outdoor furniture suppliers and the new Show Gardens. The Pentagon Vauxhall Countryside Ring hosted a range of exciting events including breath taking BMX stunts from Savage Skills.

Once again our Livestock and Equine competitions were a massive hit at the Lincolnshire Show, with a colourful and diverse selection incorporating all aspects of the agricultural industry. Dashing around the Clydesdale Bank Main Ring, Irish Draught horses and working hunter ponies proved a popular attraction.

As the Lincolnshire Showground heads into the summer months, we look ahead to a number of exciting events coming up which you can be a part of. Our fabulous Food and Gift Fair returns in late November, a celebration of local Lincolnshire produce and crafts with endless opportunities to purchase those Christmas gifts! Additionally we facilitate a number of external events at the Showground, such as the Steam and Vintage Fair, ONE Event and the Motorhome Show Season Finale.
