Meet Alice Hauton, Our Newest Team Member in Sales and Events! 23 Sep
We're thrilled to introduce Alice Hauton, the newest addition to our expanding Sales and Events team at the Lincolnshire Showground. To get to know Alice better, we asked her a few questions about her background and thoughts on the exciting projects ahead.
Q: What is your background and where have you come from?
A: I grew up in rural Lincolnshire and love both the countryside and the Lincolnshire coast and this year I served as the County’s competition coordinator for Lincolnshire Young Farmers.
My working background is varied, mainly including agriculture, sales, and fashion retail. I have previous experience in event planning, both organising and enjoying attending a range of events.
Whilst studying I started working life at Rand Farm Park, where I developed skills I still value today. I then moved into working full-time in the agricultural sector, focusing on sales and logistics. Last summer, I worked as an Event Sales Assistant for Fairfax and Favor, travelling to some amazing events.
Last October, I went travelling to South Australia, working on a farm for eight weeks, which funded the trip. Whilst there, I spent time exploring the cities and the East Coast before returning home in February.
I started working for the Lincolnshire Showground in June this year.
Q: We host lots of events as the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society (LAS), what event are you most excited to work on?
A: I’m really excited to work on the brand-new Lincolnshire Business Showcase. It is such a fantastic opportunity for the Business-to-Business Sector to come together to network, promote and raise awareness for their business/s under one roof!
I also cannot wait to get into the festive spirit with the Lincolnshire Food and Gift event later this year and having joined just 10 days before the Lincolnshire Show, I can’t wait to experience the full buildup to the 2025 Show!
Q: What is your favourite space at the Showground and why?
A: My favourite space is the Terrace of the EPIC Centre. I love standing up there, looking over the Main Ring, the open green spaces of the central area, and the Equine Rings—it’s such a beautiful view!
Q: This month we are focusing on Team Away Days, what would your top 5 tips be to companies thinking about hosting a team away day?
- Communicate early to ensure your whole team can attend.
- Consider your team’s needs—create activities that everyone can participate in.
- Catering and refreshments should be included and accommodate everyone.
- Check venue suitability—make sure there’s adequate access, parking, and Wi-Fi.
- Balance learning and fun to create an impactful and enjoyable day for all.
We’re excited to have Alice on board and can’t wait to see the incredible events she’ll be a part of. If you’re planning your next event or team away day, reach out to Alice and the team—we’re here to help you make it memorable!
