LAS Chairman Steps Out for Agricultural Chaplaincy 14 May
LAS Chairman Andrew Buckley; joined by Rosie Crust Head of Charity and Verity Newcombe Head of Communications recently ‘stepped out’ on the Viking Way walk to celebrate Rev Canon Alan Robson’s 25 years as their Agricultural Chaplain.
The LAS Team joined the Lincolnshire Rural Agricultural Chaplaincy (LRAC) Chair Meryl Ward and Rosie Black on day 7 of their quest to walk the full Viking Way – a total of 149 miles to raise funds to secure the future of Chaplaincy.
Alan has walked alongside so many farming families over 25 years and it was great to see 68 walkers representing 12 Lincolnshire farming organisations stepping out to thank him and highlight the fundraising needed to ensure we have an Agricultural Chaplain for the next 25 years!
1089.50 miles were walked collectively, Meryl said “We visited/met eight churches en route from Barnetby to Oakham and at times it was more of a ‘cake walk’!
So far over £12,000 has been raised for the LRAC through Just Giving, Gift Aid and direct donations. If you are able to donate to this worthy cause, please use the link below.

Meryl said “Whilst fundraising is important, the best result was to see the 12 farming organisations led by the LAS come together to thank Alan, make new contacts and celebrate working together to benefit the rural communities of Lincolnshire. We are so lucky to live in a beautiful county amongst people who care for each other”.
Note LRAC is the Charity Lincolnshire Rural and Agricultural Chaplaincy established in 2020 to raise funds to secure the future of the Chaplaincy post.
