The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society (LAS) is thrilled to announce the return of our popular Tractors into Schools initiative. Now in its eighth year, this program strengthens the connection between our rural farming communities and schools across Lincolnshire. By bringing tractors into classrooms, we offer students a unique opportunity to explore the vital role agriculture plays in putting food on our tables.
As a charity, the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society’s key aim is to educate as many people as possible in Lincolnshire about food, farming, and the environment. Initiatives like Tractors into Schools help us achieve this goal by connecting schools with local farmers and taking education outside of the classroom.
Not every child has the chance to visit a farm and for many schools, organising farm visits can be logistically challenging. That’s where the LAS steps in—by connecting farmers directly with schools, we ensure that students gain a deeper understanding of farming and its importance.
Why Tractors into Schools?
Farming and agriculture provide rich opportunities for learning across various subjects in the curriculum. Children also learn about the origins of their food, healthy eating habits, and even cooking in Design Technology.
Tractors into Schools offers an engaging and hands-on way for students to connect with the real-world applications of their studies while learning about an industry that provides exciting career paths throughout the agricultural supply chain.
Join us in celebrating the important links between farming and education, and help us nurture the next generation’s connection to agriculture.
