Pollinator Awareness Conference
The Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia is delighted to present the Pollinator Awareness Conference. The event will highlight the potentially catastrophic decline in the insect population, and call for profound changes at every level: Government policy, agriculture, industry and in our own homes and gardens.
Particularly welcome are all who are interested in ideas and best practice on how to take action to reverse the decline, including providing habitat and food sources, such as wildflowers, for the pollinators, e.g. Ecologists, local authorities and parish councils, agriculturalists, horticulturalists, educational establishments and all those with a personal interest in biodiversity.
Keynote speaker: Professor Dave Goulson FRSE, Professor of Biology at the University of Sussex. Specialising in the ecology and conservation of insects, particularly bumblebees, Professor Goulson is the author of several books and more than 400 academic articles. In 2006, he founded the Bumblebee Conversation Trust, a charity which aims to reverse the decline in the bumblebee population.
Tickets cost £15.00 and free on-site parking is available.
