OUR SPEAKERS
Sian Potter - Owner of The Choowee Cookie Company & British Army Reservist
After a career in the horse racing industry following her dreams to become a Racecourse Manager, life threw a curve ball, and her career took an unexpected diversion. A mother of two and wife to a very supportive husband, life now looks very different to the corporate world she was used to.
Being a Mum, running a home, running The Choowee Cookie Company and being a Rifleman in The Royal Anglian Regiment can be challenging, but life is all about finding a balance.
Rachael Middleton – Founder of Women’s Ag Group
Forty-five-year-old mum to one, wife and part time shepherd Rachael was born to a farming family from Friskney. From an arable background she ended up married to a sheep farmer and now lives in the Lincolnshire Wolds with her family, 3 collies, a mad whippet and ginger mare. Initially a typical farm wife, doing the farm admin, accounts, keeping house and being the extra farm hand when needed, Rachael stepped away from the farm work when she realised she had lost her identity and felt taken for granted.
During the pandemic Rachael realised she wanted to utilise her passion for mindset and self development and focus on helping others through mentoring so she set up Discover Ewe, her coaching business. But she soon discovered there was a need for something else within the farming community. Farm women groups on Facebook were awash with posts about loneliness and isolation so she decided a national friendship group might be more helpful and that’s how WAgG started. One post on Facebook sharing an idea has led to the creation of the Women's Ag Group.
Carrie Dodge – Business Manager at Rockscape Energy ltd
Carrie, a local woman from North Lincolnshire, has taken the Anaerobic Digestion (AD) industry by storm. Three years ago, she decided to leave teaching and embark on a new career at a family run renewable energy business just three miles from where she lives. With no previous experience of the AD world, Carrie has immersed herself in the industry, gaining three promotions within the first two years.
Her determination, drive, passion, and high standards have transformed Rockscape Energy into a sustainable and enviable business. Using her planning and organisation skills, along with her previous experience as a teacher, she has developed teaching resources to engage local students both on site and in the classroom, teaching them about AD and renewable energy.
Rachael Hunt – Marketing Manager at Reuseabox
Rachael Hunt, an award-winning chartered marketer, has been a dynamic force in Lincolnshire's business scene for over a decade. Recognised in 2022 as one of Lincolnshire's 30 under 30, Rachael is not just breaking barriers as a woman in leadership but also challenging stereotypes as the 'Fat Funny Marketer.' Following her TEDx talk in 2023, she's on a mission to redefine success, inspiring others to be authentic and break through perceived limitations in the business world.
Last year, she joined Reuseabox, a Lincolnshire-based B Corp that helps companies reduce their environmental impact through cardboard reuse. They are members of 1% for the Planet and have pledged to plant 1 million trees by 2030.
