Facilities and Maintenance Lead

We are recruiting for a Facilities and Maintenance Lead to join our small… but busy team.

The Lincolnshire Showground is home to the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, a charity whose main objectives are to promote Food, Farming the Countryside and Sustainability. It hosts a wide range of events from concerts, conferences and exhibitions through to company training days, educational events and awards dinners as well as the flagship event, The Lincolnshire Show.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role will lead the Facilities and Maintenance of the Showground. They would lead the grounds and maintenance team to meet the needs of the charity and delivery of events onsite.

The role will involve both management and hands-on delivery. The successful candidate will also play an integral role in managing the delivery of the events. They will be proactive in the management of the maintenance and appearance of the buildings and grounds. Ensuring that the site meets all health and safety requirements.

The individual needs to have good practical skills and happy to train others within their team.

The Facilities and Maintenance Lead will also support the Head of Operations with strategic CAPEX projects.

The successful candidate will need to be motivated, can multitask and be an enthusiastic team player with excellent customer service skills. No two days are the same, so the dealing of tasks need to be completed in an efficient and timely manner. The Facilities and Maintenance team will work alongside all departments of the business including Events, Sales, Charity and Marketing, so experience of working well in a team, along with being able to time manage your own workload is essential.

With excellent practical knowledge and skills, who confidently can direct the grounds and maintenance team as well as range of across diverse business areas and be able to build good professional relationships with colleagues.

Occasionally, you would need to be flexible and may be required to work unsociable/ weekend hours.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the running of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society events. The job would suit a pro-active, outgoing individual with a confident and determined approach and with at least 3 year’s previous in maintenance and grounds experience. You will need to possess good verbal and written communications skills.
