As the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society we're proud of our county and everything it offers and are passionate about celebrating our wonderful county, so have organised a school event providing unique hands-on learning experiences focused on Lincolnshire.
Lincolnshire Day Exhibitors
Lincoln City Foundation: Get involved in an inclusive and active session including invasion games (football) and striking and fielding (Kwik cricket).
Lincoln Rugby Club: Enjoy rugby taster sessions using a games-based approach to raise awareness of the sport and encourage uptake of sport in the city.
Cotehill Cheese: Have a go at making a soft lactic cheese and taste some of the different delicious cheeses made at the farm. Discover the process of cheese making at Cotehill Farm from milk through to cheese production.
Wild Jacks Ltd/Welbourne’s Bakery: Discover the farm-to-fork journey of bread and have a go at kneading dough made from locally sourced ingredients
Ladies in Pigs: Have fun making and tasting Lincolnshire sausages and learn all about British Red Tractor produce.
Scaman’s Eggs: Learn all about Lincolnshire free-range egg production and have a go at processing, weighing, sorting and date stamping eggs.
Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project: Come and discover what lurks in Lincolnshire’s unique chalk streams. Explore bucketsful of wonderful chalk stream samples full of minibeasts to investigate!
Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers: Learn the art of spinning and weaving, including spinning with wheels and try different forms of weaving including shaft loom and peg loom weaving.
Creative Activities ‘Making Learning Fun’: Have fun designing and building a popsicle stick Trebuchet.
Heritage Lincolnshire: Have a go at some archaeological recording of a mini replica Bronze Age burial.
Lincolnshire Bomber Command Memorial: Enjoy taking part in object-handling workshops based on the collection from the International Bomber Command Centre.
Lincolnshire County Council - Aviation Learning: Learn all about the Women’s Land Army during WW2 by exploring artefacts, uniforms and campaigns such as ‘Dig for Victory’. Have a go at designing your own vegetable garden and make your own plant pot from newspaper.
Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust: From Earthtongues to Dead Man’s Fingers – Come and discover the fascinating world of fungi and then build your very own to take away!
Riseholme College: Have a go at our brain teasers, puzzles and putting green! Discover the range of courses on offer at Riseholme College.
Royal Air Force: Be an astronaut for the day and build a paper rocket, launching it under pressure to see how far it goes!
University of Lincoln (LIAT): Explore the soil beneath your feet with the University of Lincoln. Get your hands dirty and discover how soil helps to produce our food as well as its super environmental benefits.
Flowers by Suzanne: Enjoy creating and arranging a hand-tied display to taken home and learn about how florists create their designs and displays.
