Seeking a Manager for the operational side of the business.
The venue is home to whole-site events, concerts, conferences, exhibitions, balls, training days and awards dinners as well as the flagship event, The Lincolnshire Show. It is home to the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society a charity whose main objectives are to promote Food, Farming and the Countryside.
An opportunity has arisen for a Showground and Facilities Manager. This is a key role and requires someone who can lead and work with a small team who maintain the showground; and can also appoint and supervise contractors and other service providers. The charity, and the events business that supports it, welcomes thousands of customers and supporters each year, and the ability to interpret their needs and deliver first class customer service at all times is vital to its success.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a wide-ranging role with a diverse level of responsibilities. The successful candidate will be involved in both day-to-day operations and longer-term planning. and will oversee the management of all the grounds / facilities team and contractors. Experience in producing and monitoring maintenance, labour and capital budgets will be essential, as will the ability to negotiate and review contracts with both new and existing suppliers and to be fully conversant with relevant health and safety legislation.
The successful candidate will be a hands on team player, a highly motivated manager, and possess good organisational and communication skills, excellent problem-solving as well as good practical skills with preferably at least 2 years-experience of managing a team within a similar role. Experience of working in the events industry would be desirable but not essential.
