Top tips for planning your event 08 Mar

Amelia Chambers, Sales Manager

1. Have a contingency plan
It doesn't matter how well an event is planned, it is always worth having a plan B, especially if your event is weather dependant. We host more than 300 events a year, and a proportion of those are outside. We always advise to have some indoor space too, or cover to keep your visitors happy.

2. Utilise the experts
When it comes to AV it is best to use the professionals. Giving a presentation or a speech can be stressful so we always advise using our friends at Peachy Event Services to run larger conferences ensuring a smooth delivery and good impression.

3. Use a checklist
It is very easy to forget something, so use one of our handy checklists to make sure you have everything ready before the event starts.

Lauren Richardson, Senior Sales Executive

1. Make a to-do list!
Add on everything you are going to need so you can tick off as you go along.

2. Get the catering right
It is one of the most important factors. This is what your guests will remember, so spend some time analysing different menus and make sure you cater for all dietaries correctly. Here at the Showground, our in-house caterers CGC have been catering for more than 120 years, and offer delicious menu packages to suit every event.

3. Stay calm!
There is always one thing that doesn't quite go to plan or changes at the last minute. Our front of house team will be here to help you throughout the day so your guests leave happy.

Will Taylor, Sales Executive

1. Make a list
Before the event planning process begins, make a list with everything you're going to need so you won't miss a thing.

2. Think outside the box
Make your event like no other - ultimately, that's what will make a lasting impression on your visitors and keep them coming back.

3. Relax and enjoy every moment
Event planning can be stressful, so just remember you're doing it because you want to!

Here at the Lincolnshire Showground we have more than 270 acres to accommodate all kinds of events - everything from small meetings and conferences to site-wide vehicle rallies and concerts. Our dedicated team are on hand to help you every step of the way, from the initial enquiry and event planning stages right through to on the day support - and beyond!
