Santa Claus is coming to town! 15 Nov

Celebrating Christmas all under one roof, fair-goers will be able to enjoy more than 150 traders selling the finest Lincolnshire produce and three choirs singing festive favourites. Families will also be able to take part in a brand-new Santa’s Workshop with a variety of festive-themed crafts.

CEO of the Lincolnshire Showground, Jayne Southall, said: “Final preparations for the 16th Lincolnshire Food and Gift Fair are now well underway and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to the Showground for our biggest Christmas extravaganza yet.

“More than 150 traders including Lincolnshire favourites The Naked Marshmallow Co. and Uncle Henrys will be on hand to ensure that shoppers find that perfect gift for loved ones.

“Visitors will have the opportunity to get creative through Flowers by Suzanne’s special wreath making workshops and aspiring Christmas chefs will be able to pick up some handy cooking tips in the Lincolnshire Kitchen as The Lincolnshire Chef Steven Bennett, TV chef personality Rachel Green and Red Hill Farm Free Range Pork’s Jane Tomlinson cook up seasonal recipes.”

This year for the first time, children will be able to meet Father Christmas and get hands on with a variety of festive-themed crafts, baking and storytelling in the brand-new Santa’s Workshop.

Renowned Lincoln institution, Ruddocks of Lincoln, will be helping children to create festive tree decorations and gifts to take home in its hands-on workshops at the event.

Rhiannon Wilkinson, from Ruddocks, said: “Santa’s Workshop is a fantastic opportunity for us to show that we are offering an alternative to shopping at the Fair especially for the young people. We want the younger shopper to enjoy the entertainment while gaining a new skill.

“With Ruddocks of Lincoln, visitors can personalise their Christmas tree this year by creating handmade tree toppers, decorations, make their own crowns and write a letter to Father Christmas, posting it in our special Christmas post box.”

Spanning two exhibition halls, the event will see choirs BeVox, Horncastle Community Choir and Nettleham Community Choir with Birchwood Sings perform festive songs across the weekend and visitors will be able to sample a variety of hot food from traders on the day including Hot Rocks and The Duck Truck.

Jayne added: “The Lincolnshire Food and Gift Fair is always a favourite in everyone’s calendar as it celebrates everything that is great about Lincolnshire, while helping to kick off Christmas in spectacular style.

“With so much to see and do this year, the Fair is a true family event that has something to suit all ages and tastes. So whether you are a seasoned shopper or a soon-to-be Christmas chef, it is definitely an event not to be missed.”

The Lincolnshire Food and Gift Fair will take place with the new extended hours of 9am to 4pm on both days and offers free parking to all visitors.

Advanced tickets are sale until midday on Friday 25th November, priced at £5. Tickets will be available on the gate on both days of the Fair, priced at £6.
