Lincolnshire Showground is to host an out-of-this world musical event marking the 50th anniversary of the moon landings.
On Saturday, July 6th, fifty years after Neil Armstrong stepped onto the lunar surface, the famous venue’s Epic Centre will provide the setting for Interstellar, an ambitious musical event featuring the 50-piece Limelight Orchestra.
Playing uplifting rock and pop classics by the likes of David Bowie, ELO and Daft Punk, the two-hour Interstellar extravaganza will also see the arena lit up by a spectacular lighting show and state-of-the-art 3D holograms.
“This is going to be an amazing event in an incredible location,” said Paul Brindley, of organisers Secret Symphony.
“We have been working on this for a long time and have put together an amazing musical event that people won’t forget. We’re over the moon with the results.
“The combination of the themed light show, 3D holograms, a 50-piece orchestra with vocalists and the huge scale of the arena will provide a fitting way of celebrating half a century since man made it to the moon.
“This will be one of the biggest musical nights in the Midlands this year.”
The Limelight Orchestra are a versatile collaboration of musicians from across the Midlands, incorporating brass, strings, percussion, and rhythm sections supporting impressive vocalists.
The Interstellar show in Licolnshire on July 6th is one the biggest events in series being organised at Midlands cathedrals, including Lichfield, Birmingham, Coventry and Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena.
“We’re very excited about all the Interstellar events,” Paul said, “but the Lincoln one feels extra special – because it’s a remarkable venue and has the scale and acoustics to do the show justice.
“The Lincolnshire Showground has seen some amazing acts and attractions over the years and some incredible light shows, but it has never have seen anything like this before – our 3D holograms have to be seen to be believed.”
Interstellar is at Lincolnshire Showground, on July 6th. Full details of all the Interstellar events, and ticket booking details, are available from www.secret-symphony.com.
