Breakfast is served for local schools 20 Jan

Together with primary school children from five different schools across Lincolnshire the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society will join the national campaign 'Shake Up Your Wake Up' to discover the importance of breakfast and celebrate the wealth of the county's produce.

For a whole week from Monday 25 January lower key stage 2 pupils will take part in a fun-packed morning of activities at the Showground, including fruity breakfast smoothie making, seed planting to learn where cereals come from and 'Meet the Farmer' who grows them, making porridge with the perfect topping - all before tucking into their own tasty breakfasts!

Education and Development Officer, Rosie Crust, said: "We are excited to welcome back pupils from across Lincolnshire to celebrate Farmhouse Breakfast Week with us this month.

"As the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society we know how important it is to engage and educate the next generation on food, farming and the countryside, and we are working hard to ensure young people understand the link between agriculture and food - that's why this campaign is something we are proud to be supporting fully."

The Society will be supported by Welbourne's Bakery, Waitrose, Agrii, L J Fairburn & Son Ltd, Wooden Spoon and Whisk and Alford NFU.

The annual Breakfast Week will run from Sunday 24 January until Saturday 30 January this year, and aims to raise awareness of the importance and benefits of eating a healthy breakfast.
