Lincolnshire Day

LAS

Here at the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society we're celebrating everything that's great about our county for Lincolnshire Day - from the delicious local produce to the beautiful iconic landmarks

As the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society we're proud of our county and everything it offers, and that's why we decided to launch a new educational event in 2018 to celebrate and promote everything that's great about Lincolnshire ahead of Lincolnshire Day on 1 October.

On Monday 1 October each year we welcome primary school children from across the county to the Lincolnshire Showground for an action-packed day of fun and interactive sessions all related to Lincolnshire's food, farming, aviation, heritage and tourism.

In 2018, we were joined by

Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire

They will be bringing their "Say Cheese!" activity where children will be able to make a selfie frame along with props relating to WW1 and WW2.

Imps in the Community (Lincoln City Football Club)

Imps in the Community will be showcasing their new 'Fuel for School' project which uses the 17 sustainable development goals to educate on topics such as climate change, life on land and life below water. Take part in the climate change quiz and take home some food that is sent to landfill each week.

The Farm Kitchen

The Farm Kitchen are making tasty tomato and basil focaccia with the children, using fantastic Lincolnshire ingredients including dough from our Lincolnshire bakers, Bloomsbury.

Woolsthorpe Manor

Learn about the history of Sir Isaac Newton at Woolsthorpe Manor and explore some of his scientific discoveries around gravity and light.

Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve

Children will be able to discover how sand dunes are formed and the amazing roles different plants play in creating them.

Ladies in Pigs

Ladies in Pigs will be making sausage rolls with the children and promoting Red Tractor pork and bacon through games and activities.
